The King is alive!

Elvis lives on.

The magnificent city of Budapest is to honour Elvis Presley by making him an honourary citizen.  This is because of his support for the people after the relovution in 1956 (read more here).

While this is a nice thing for Budapest to do for Elvis it isn't much good to him because he is dead (no actually, he is).  There are only two places to be citizen of when we leave this life - Heaven or Hell.

Heaven is by far the better of these two places but they are both very real.  The citizenship of Heaven is kind of an honourary award too.  What I mean is that it cannot be earned and it is not given because of our parents standing.  It is not have geographical or historical conditions placed on it. Citizens of Heaven are given that special status if they love the King of that city, if they honour God and follow Jesus Christ. It's as simple as that.

People love to flatter other people with praise and honours but they will mean nothing after death.  Honour the King now and you will be given citizenship of heaven and eternal joy will be yours.

Know that the LORD is God.
   It is he who made us, and we are his;
   we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
  Enter his gates with thanksgiving
   and his courts with praise;
   give thanks to him and praise his name.
Psalm 100:3-4
